The   Seni or   Data Protection   Coordinat or   will be   part   of a   global   team of   40 + expe rts ,   working closely with the   Global   Lead   for   Data Protec tion   Services ,   both   globa l and loc al   Data Pro tection   team s ,   global and   local   DPO teams   enab ling th e   str at egi c design ,   impl ementation   and moni toring   o f data pr otection a ctivities   within   the Gr oup . Your day to day: Daily activities include collaboration with the relevant stakeholders to: • Drive the implementation of the GDPR and other relevant legislation, through   leadin g the   desi gn   & i mplemen tation   of   comp lex   data p rotection   processe s,   d ata protec tion too ling, as   well   as   data   protection   policies ,   procedures   and   controls   facilitati ng   an   E2E   ente rprise   data pr otection   risk manag ement p rocess wit hin   ING; • Engage w ith   the servi ces team’s   inter nationa l   c lients   spread   across   contine nts   -   EU ,   US,   ASIA ; • Provide support and assistance on data protection matters for   intern ational c lients   o n   the entire   spectrum o f data p rotectio n topics   –   map pi ng of per sonal dat a, perform ing of r elevant asse ssments   ( DPIA,   LIA, T IA   etc . ),   data   breach mana gement,   data subject s’ rig ht m anagement ,   3 rd   part y contractin g & m onitori ng,   priv acy by de sign,   storage   limitati on   etc . • Drive th e   in novati on   process   enhancement   activi ties   as well as   client   expansion   activiti es ,   actively   participa ting   in   the dev el o pment of   the da ta protec tion serv ices strateg y   (lia ise   with   g lobal   l eads ,   active ly   par ticipate   in   global deci sion foru ms   to   repre sent   the team ’s strateg y and   in terest s   by   en hancing the   overall   busin ess value ); • Take   on AI Act   regulat ory compl iance relat ed duti es   thro ugh   mapp ing ,   clas sifyi ng   and   assess ing   AI   usecases   ( e.g.,   i nventory, per formance of   FRIA   as well as   other   relevan t asse ssments ); • Of fer   assistance   for the   regular   tes ting   exerc ises , as wel l as   Quality A ssurance   &   Audi t missio ns; • Creating awareness and deliver trainings on data protection compliance; • Prepare and report on   data p rotection   related metrics and other activity reports and presentations to Group and local stakeholders and bodies in case   required; • Lead initiatives end-to-end, from problem definition and solution design through implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement, while proactively managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations; • Think strategically, transforming regulatory requirements into scalable business solutions, challenging existing approaches, and developing recommendations that stand up to senior stakeholder scrutiny; • Act as a trusted advisor, influencing and aligning stakeholders across functions, geographies, and management levels,   facilitating   consensus, and driving outcomes even in complex environments; • Drive innovation and service evolution,   identifying   opportunities for automation, efficiency, improved client experience, and new service capabilities that enhance organizational maturity and scalability; • Operate with a global mindset, understanding how local decisions influence broader organizational   objectives   and aligning priorities with enterprise-wide goals. What you bring to the team • Bachelor’s degree with approx.   5   years of professional experience in the control/ audit/ consultancy services/ compliance/ legal field connected to the data protection area, preferably in a similar business environment (banking/IT); • Knowledge of the national and European data protection laws and practices, knowledge of the business sector, understand the processing operations,   technologies   and data security; • Good understanding of general banking environment, governance structure, and banking products,   services   and operational flows; • Good stakeholder management skills; • Knowledge of data governance, data quality and data ethics is a plus; • Legal background and relevant data protection qualifications are a plus: CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT,   AI GP; • Ability to develop working processes that provide structure and discipline; • Experienced user of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel and Power Point are   a must ); • Very good   organizing skills, team player with   strong communication , negotiation and analytical skills, problem solving oriented,   logical   and open-minded, ability to work independently; • English (writing, speaking) advanced.
