Our Why Datacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people’s lives and help organisations use the power of tech to innovate and grow. About the Role (your why) We are seeking a versatile and highly skilled Senior Fullstack Developer with a strong generalist mindset to join our engineering team. In this role, you won't just write code; you will design, build, and maintain robust, end-to-end applications and integration solutions. As a generalist, you thrive on solving complex engineering problems across the entire stack—from crafting intuitive user experiences to architecting scalable backend systems. You are highly adaptable, cloud-agnostic, and passionate about seamless system integrations and modern software engineering principles. Key Responsibilities End-to-End Application Development: Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance web applications, managing the full software development lifecycle from concept to production. Modern Frontend Development: Build responsive, highly interactive user interfaces primarily utilizing React, ensuring a focus on clean architecture, state management, and optimal user experience. Robust Backend & Integration Architecture: Architect and implement secure, scalable backend services and APIs using the .NET stack (C#). Design integration solutions that connect internal systems, microservices, and third-party APIs seamlessly. Cloud-Agnostic Deployment: Deploy and maintain applications across various cloud ecosystems (e.g., AWS, Azure) utilizing infrastructure-as-code principles and modern CI/CD pipelines. Data Layer Management: Design, optimize, and manage both relational (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases, leveraging ORMs like Entity Framework while maintaining the ability to write raw, high-performance queries. Quality & Automation: Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests. Champion automated testing strategies to ensure application stability and continuous delivery. Technical Leadership & Collaboration: Actively participate in design reviews and code reviews. Mentoring and fostering a culture of technical excellence and shared learning. Agile Delivery: Partner with product managers and stakeholders to break down complex business requirements into clear technical specifications within an Agile framework. Key Skills & Qualifications Technical Core Backend Expertise: Strong proficiency in modern .NET (.NET Core / .NET 6+) and C#, with deep experience building Web APIs, RESTful services, and microservices. Frontend Expertise: Solid experience with modern React (including hooks, state management, and modern build tools) alongside a strong foundation in TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Integration & Systems Design: Proven experience designing and integrating complex APIs, webhooks, event-driven architectures, and third-party services. Cloud & DevOps: A cloud-agnostic mindset with experience deploying to platforms like AWS or Azure. Familiarity with Docker, containerization, and building automated CI/CD pipelines. Database Proficiency: Strong skills in database design, query optimization, and data modelling (SQL and NoSQL options). Soft Skills Generalist Aptitude: A strong ability to quickly pick up new technologies, frameworks, or languages as required by the business problem. Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical and debugging skills across distributed systems. Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Leadership: Proven track record of mentoring team members and driving software engineering best practices (Clean Code, SOLID principles, TDD). Why Join Us? Datacom is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest suppliers of Information Technology profession
