About the Job
Neo Environmental, an award-winning planning and environmental consultancy, have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Hydrologist to be based out of our Warrington, Bristol or Glasgow office and work on a broad variety of projects.
The position will offer the right individual the opportunity to work for a well-established and growing planning and environmental consultancy.
The successful candidate will work on projects including residential schemes, infrastructure and energy projects. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a high degree of independence as well as in teams.
Duties
• Management and delivery of Flood Risk Assessment, SuDs schemes, etc.
• Understanding of hydraulic modelling and associated reports
• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Organising and conducting site visits, attending team and client meetings
• Undertaking extensive modelling work and report writing
Essential Criteria
• Relevant hydrology qualification as well as being chartered or working towards chartership (preferably ICE or CIWEM)
• Experience completing Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans
• Demonstrable experience of the successful delivery of hydrology reports
• Good knowledge and understanding of UK legislation
• The successful candidate will be required to produce reports for clients and so attention to detail, reliability, and good organisational skills are essential.
• Experienced in GIS and other software packages
• Full driving license
Desirable Criteria
• Master’s degree relevant to hydrology
• Hydraulic modelling experience
• Experience in peat stability and related assessments
• Strong scientific and engineering knowledge in relation to hydrology
• Tendering/bid preparation experience
• Production of EIA Chapters
• Hydraulic Modelling using Flood Modeller Pro, HEC-RAS, or similar programme
