Responsibilities - System Architecture: Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems from concept to deployment. - Core Development: Develop solutions for processing, storing, and analysing data at scale. - Infrastructure & Scaling: Optimize application performance and ensure the reliability of services running in a cloud-native environment. - Data Management: Design and maintain complex databases, ensuring data integrity and query efficiency across relational and non-relational systems. - Complex Integrations: Manage and implement multi-system integrations, handling high levels of complexity and technical interdependencies. - Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define project objectives and participate in rigorous code reviews to maintain high quality. - Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and trends to ensure Mend.io http://Mend.io remains at the forefront of the industry. Must Have: - 4+ years of experience with the Java language, including experience with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization, - 6+ years of experience in software development, - Experience with SQL backend, preferably PostgreSQL, - Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ, - Experienced with AWS and CI/CD pipelines, - Experience with AI tools (i.e. Cursor AI or Claude), - Ability to take tasks from requirements to deployment quickly and independently, - Ability to work within distributed, multidisciplinary teams, - Design and build scalable, high-availability mission-critical systems and APIs, - Experience with test-driven development.
