Job Description:
Your Mission
The Senior Manager, Content & Channels is responsible to support the Group Communications department in the strategic planning, development and execution of corporate communications initiatives that protect & project SD Guthrie’s brand and reputation among stakeholders. The role oversees media planning & relations, crisis & issues management, corporate messaging, digital & social media, and internal communications, while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership and ensuring the brand’s narrative is consistent and impactful across all channels.
Media Relations & Editorial
• Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies, tactics and campaigns to drive brand narrative aligned with enterprise strategy and objectives
• Lead external communications efforts – media briefings, press releases, articles, FAQs, interviews and Q&As, among others
• Support internal stakeholders with content development through editorial and proofreading works, including development of senior leadership messages, presentation decks and speeches
• Build and maintain strong relationships with media, journalists, and key stakeholders
• Monitor trends and audience insights to enhance communication effectiveness
• Responsible for global media monitoring and listening, preparing daily media monitoring reports for management, utilising subscribed tools and techniques
Reputation, Crisis & Issues Management
• Lead in issues identification and resolution, as well as responding to emerging priorities and crisis situations; plus develop and implement a crisis communication plan when the need arises
• Manage the Group’s communications risk register - focused on reputational risk analysis, mitigation, and controls
Digital & Social Media
• Strategise and manage all official owned media for SD Guthrie, including website and social media platforms and oversee creation of high-quality content
Internal Communications
• Facilitate effective internal communication to keep employees informed and engaged
• Oversee all internal communications channels, not limited to SharePoint portal and Group Announcements; as well as internal communications events online, hybrid and physical events, such as townhalls
Admin, Analytics & Reporting
• Develop and manage the communication budget efficiently
• Monitor team performance and develop regular reports to assess communication strategies
• Stay updated on emerging trends in media, communications, and digital landscape
• Introduce innovative approaches, tools, and formats to strengthen communications impact
Ideal Candidate
• Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communications, Journalism, Media or a related discipline
• Minimum 12 years of experience in a Corporate or Strategic Communications / Corporate or Public Affairs / Media Relations / Stakeholder Management leadership role, preferably in a large and listed multinational corporation
• Proven track record in planning, developing and implementing brand narrative, reputation management and corporate communications campaigns
• Strong media relations with an established network of journalists, media outlets, and key industry stakeholders
• Exceptional writing, storytelling, and content development skills, with experience crafting media statements and executive communications
• Strong understanding of digital communications, social media strategy, and integrated communication campaigns.
• Proven ability to lead crisis communications and manage sensitive reputational issues effectively
• Excellent leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advise and engage senior executives and external stakeholders
