£38,000–£45,000 depending on experience + EMI Share Options + Private Healthcare

We're looking for an experienced Senior Manufacturing Technician to build, integrate and test the precision optical, electro-mechanical and photonic assemblies that form the heart of our breakthrough technology.
This is not a high-volume production role.
You'll work on complex, high-value systems, collaborating closely with engineers and scientists to solve manufacturing challenges, improve processes and ensure our products perform to the highest standards.

What You'll Be Doing
Manufacture and test complex sub-assemblies involving optical, cabling, and electro-mechanical technologies, ensuring compliance with quality and performance standards.
Identify, investigate, and report manufacturing issues, leading first-level containment and working closely with engineering and support teams to implement effective resolutions.
Lead process discipline and shift stability, driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and efficiency.
Mentor and support colleagues, ensure BoM kit readiness, and maintain high standards of housekeeping and health and safety.
Support the achievement of production and delivery schedules through high-quality, right-first-time assembly and test.
Coordinate the integration of critical modules into advanced semiconductor metrology systems, ensuring compliance with quality, performance, and manufacturing standards.
What We're Looking For
You'll come from within semiconductor equipment, photonics, scientific instrumentation, aerospace, medical devices or another advanced technology manufacturing environment.
Senior Manufacturing Technician experience, or a minimum of five years' experience in a Manufacturing Technician role.
Experience with setting up optical systems , laser building, fibre optics, electronics, and electro-mechanical assembly and test.
Proven experience in the build and test of complex, high-value technology products.
Experience working in cleanroom manufacturing environments.
Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and root cause analysis skills.
Experience supporting products from development through to production.
Good understanding of manufacturing quality systems and best practices.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Experience building and testing precision assemblies with exceptional attention to detail.
Nice to Have
Semiconductor equipment manufacturing experience
AFM, metrology, photonics or scientific instrumentation experience
IPC wiring and soldering certification
Manufacturing engineering or process development exposure
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience supporting low-volume, high-complexity products
