Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world.  We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation. Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation. As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months. As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to design and develop power electronics for electric propulsion systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with stringent aerospace standards. Key responsibilities will include: • Design and development   of high-voltage (>400V to   1 k V ) three-phase inverter systems for electric propulsion • Undertake analysis   of th ree phase inverters including dynamic switching characteristics,   efficiency and   thermal • Design differential and common mode filters for   high voltage applications • Design failure detection and protection systems for   high voltage wide bandgap devices • Manage the complete lifecycle of electronics design, encompassing analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and design verification • Conduct formal design reviews, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and laboratory validation of   power   electronic system • Lead root-cause investigations of failures and define corrective actions, coordinating cross-functional teams and applying structured problem-solving methodologies • Deliver technical reports and design documentation to support certification activities and regulatory approvals • Ensure adherence to Evolito’s internal standards as well as applicable aviation industry regulations • Contribute to the advancement of departmental technologies, capabilities, facilities, and processes • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers within the team. Skills   and experience required: • Bachelor’s or Master’s   degree   in   E lectrical/ El ectronic   E ngineering, or   equivalent demonstrable industrial experience • Previous proven experience   in   electronics design, preferably within aerospace, defence or automotive   industries • Strong understanding   and experience with one or more of the following: w ide bandgap   switching devices ( SiC   MOSFETs), g ate drive design  and protection circuits, EMC analysis   including magnetic design for   filters, DC link filter design including   capacitor selection, DC current ripple analysis   including mitigation strategies • Experience   with   application of   SiC   MOSFETs   in   a   high voltage ,   high altitude   environment   is desirable • Experienced in modelling, simulation and analysis of power devices for inverter systems • K n owledge of   MATLAB /Simulink and   LTSpice • Knowl edge of FEMM   simulation   tools   such as Ansys Maxwell   is desirable • Proficient in ECAD software for schematic capture and PCB layout .   Strong expertise in Altium Designer   is essential • Skilled in conducting   design analysis, including   w orst-case   error ,   t olerance,   t hermal, and   component   stress   analysis • Familiarity with   Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacture (DFM)   principles • H ands-on experience with   power   electronics design verification   and   fault diagnosis • Experience with   ‘Double Pulse Tests’,   MOSFET thermal path   characterisation   and motor integration tests is highly desirable • Experience in parameter validation of wideband gap devices and associated test platforms • U se of lab equipment such as oscilloscope, function generator, impedance   analyser   etc • Experienced in generating relevant technical documentation for project milestones and regulatory approval • Knowledge of d eveloping products that comply with   aerospace design and test   standards (such as ARP4754A/DO254 /DO160 )   is desirable but not essential • Excellent   communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams • Instinctive problem-solving skills coupled with a sound analytical approach • A 'self-starter' attitude with the ability to thrive in a   dynamic   environment • Results-orientated,   with a focus on delivering outcomes aligned to business objectives • An interest in continuous professional development and combining experience with new or novel techniques.
