Description
Plume is a SaaS platform delivering smart home and business services at scale to over 60 million locations globally. This Senior Software Engineer role focuses on the Data Engineering team within the Cloud Platform group, where you will architect and lead large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure initiatives.
What You'll Do
• Architect and lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale software initiatives across cloud, embedded, front-end, data, and product teams
• Set technical standards by writing clean, well-documented code and elevating quality through code reviews and engineering best practices
• Drive solutions to complex scalability, integration, and architectural challenges at massive platform scale
• Own the full lifecycle of services in a Kubernetes ecosystem, including design, deployment, operations, and incident response
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor to grow the next generation of engineers on the team
• Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities as part of production support culture
What You Need
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
• 4+ years of experience writing and shipping production-quality code
• Deep proficiency in one or more of: Java, Scala, Node.js, or Rust
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design
• Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures on AWS or GCP
• Working knowledge of computer networking, operating systems, and databases
• Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional software projects from conception to delivery
• Exceptional communication skills to distill complex technical concepts for engineers and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
• Experience with Spark, Akka, or NestJS
• Linux experience
$140,000–$170,000 base salary, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Benefits include 401(k) with company match, basic life insurance, health, dental, vision, and other perks.
