Description
BBYO AND PHILANTHROPIC ENGAGEMENT IN PERSPECTIVE   BBYO is seeking a talented, driven, and entrepreneurial fundraiser to serve as Senior Vice President of Philanthropic Engagement—an extraordinary leadership opportunity at a pivotal moment when both the need and the potential for impact have never been greater. BBYO sits at the center of a rapidly evolving Jewish landscape, increasingly serving as the primary pluralistic platform for post–bar/bat mitzvah engagement and leadership development for Jewish teens. The challenge ahead is to translate that impact into sustained philanthropic investment that fuels BBYO's growth and shapes the future of Jewish communal life.   This is not a traditional development role. The Senior Vice President will inherit—and be expected to activate—a powerful set of assets: relationships with some of the leading Jewish philanthropists in North America, a global alumni community numbering in the hundreds of thousands, a track record of expanding impact, and a network of highly committed volunteers and board members. BBYO currently operates an annual campaign of $25 million with a Centennial Campaign that seeks to increase endowment commitments to $100 million over the next three years.   The successful candidate will capitalize on significant investments in BBYO's fundraising infrastructure, including a recently enhanced database and prospect management ecosystem, to identify new opportunities for growth and deepen donor engagement. Through compelling storytelling, strategic relationship-building, data-informed decision-making, and sophisticated cultivation strategies, this leader will expand BBYO's philanthropic reach and drive transformational support for the organization's mission.   BBYO offers the rare chance to take on a meaningful fundraising challenge with the resources, partnership, and platform needed to achieve truly outsized results.   THE JOB   As a Senior Vice President, Philanthropic Engagement a typical day will include:   Providing leadership and managerial oversight for the Philanthropic Engagement team (currently 7 fundraisers and 4 cross-departmental supporters), ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, goals, and long-term growth objectives.   Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and results-driven relationship management.    Developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective and current donors.   Driving fundraising goals and metrics focused on increasing gifts of current donors, expanding the prospect pipeline, securing new gifts, and introducing legacy solicitations.   Planning and implementing fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events, ensuring meaningful donor experiences that strengthen relationships and advance philanthropic goals.    Ensuring that #GivingBBYODay reaches its full potential.   Ensuring fundraisers are effectively managing all regional grant activity, including proposal development, submissions, reporting, and adherence to deadlines and funder requirements.   Partnering with BBYO’s Alumni Association to deepen alumni engagement, strengthen philanthropic participation, and identify new opportunities for donor cultivation and stewardship.   Working closely with marketing team to develop donor-facing storytelling, stewardship strategies, campaign messaging, and communications initiatives that advance fundraising goals.   Leveraging CRM data and the PE operations team to identify, prioritize, and qualify prospective donors, informing targeted cultivation strategies and pipeline development efforts to optimize engagement strategies.
