Our client, a long established independent veterinary hospital in Berkshire, is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and progressive team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well respected independent practice that has been caring for pets for more than a century. With multiple sites across the local area and a fully equipped hospital at its heart, you will enjoy the benefits of modern facilities while working in a practice that puts patient care ahead of corporate targets. You will be joining a collaborative team of experienced veterinary surgeons, including certificate holders, supported by a dedicated nursing team and experienced reception staff. Many team members have been with the practice for years, creating a welcoming and stable working environment where everyone is encouraged to share ideas and continue learning. The role This position is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon with at least two years of first opinion experience who is confident with consultations, routine surgery, dentistry, diagnostic investigations and inpatient care. You will primarily be based at the hospital, with occasional work across nearby branch practices. The position includes: • Full time, four day working week • One weekend in five with time off in lieu on the following Monday and Friday • No overnight on call • One late shift each week until 9.00 pm • No sole charge • Excellent nursing support, including overnight inpatient care provided by resident nurses Out of hours emergencies are managed by a dedicated provider outside of practice opening hours, allowing you to maintain a healthy work life balance while ensuring continuity of care for hospital patients. Facilities Our client has invested heavily in modern equipment and offers an excellent clinical environment, allowing vets to work up cases to a high standard while delivering outstanding patient care.
