Description
Expel is a cybersecurity services company seeking a SOC Specialist II to join their Security Operations Center. This is an entry-level position focused on security analysis, phishing detection, and incident response within a 24/7 managed security operation. What You'll Do • Monitor and analyze security events and alerts in a 24x7 shift rotation environment • Respond to and investigate real-world security incidents and phishing attempts • Participate in managed phishing and threat detection operations for customer environments • Learn incident response procedures and attack analysis techniques from experienced security analysts • Experiment with new methods and tools to improve threat detection and incident response capabilities What You Need • Fundamental understanding of phishing, TCP/IP, and core application layer protocols • Basic understanding of Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems and command-line tools • Familiarity with attack lifecycle, attack vectors, threat tactics, and attacker techniques • Excellent analytical and prioritization skills with attention to detail • Clear written and verbal communication abilities • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience • Authorization to work in Ireland (no visa sponsorship available) Nice to Have • Awareness of cloud applications such as Office 365 and Okta • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure platforms including AWS, GCP, and Azure • Security certifications or formal security training • Experience with network analysis tools such as Wireshark €45,000 EUR base salary plus 20% bonus and equity; unlimited PTO, work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits
