Alarm.com is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our Panels Team, which develops and maintains the communication backbone that powers millions of smart home devices worldwide. In this role, you will manage a team of developers that work on all aspects of our Security ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to manage projects that span a variety of technical areas while also managing a team of 5 software engineers, provide technical mentorship to the developers on your team, deliver projects, set project timelines, and generate work for your team. Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience 8+ years of professional software development experience 3+ years of professional experience managing a team of developers Strong technical mentorship skills Strong object-oriented programming skills; C# a plus Experience with database design and development Knowledge of networking concepts, principles, and technologies Experience working with physical systems  Experience developing scalable service-oriented architectures. Fosters a positive, respectful, and inclusive team environment through day-to-day leadership. Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and non-engineers alike.  Experience hiring, developing and managing a diverse and talented team of engineers Proven track record delivering large scale, cross-functional projects on time and in a high-quality manner, exploring technical feasibility and prioritization tradeoffs as well as process improvements
