Alarm.com is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our Panels Team, which develops and maintains the communication backbone that powers millions of smart home devices worldwide.
In this role, you will manage a team of developers that work on all aspects of our Security ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to manage projects that span a variety of technical areas while also managing a team of 5 software engineers, provide technical mentorship to the developers on your team, deliver projects, set project timelines, and generate work for your team. WHAT DO YOU NEED?
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience
8+ years of professional software development experience
3+ years of professional experience managing a team of developers
Strong technical mentorship skills
Strong object-oriented programming skills; C# a plus
Experience with database design and development
Knowledge of networking concepts, principles, and technologies
Experience working with physical systems
Experience developing scalable service-oriented architectures.
Fosters a positive, respectful, and inclusive team environment through day-to-day leadership.
Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and non-engineers alike.
Experience hiring, developing and managing a diverse and talented team of engineers
Proven track record delivering large scale, cross-functional projects on time and in a high-quality manner, exploring technical feasibility and prioritization tradeoffs as well as process improvements
