AST SpaceMobile is building a global cellular broadband network in space for commercial and government applications. This role is a Senior Capabilities Developer responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and deploying advanced software capabilities supporting government and defense communications programs, working across software engineering, systems integration, communications technologies, data analytics, and DevOps. What You'll Do • Design, develop, integrate, and deploy software capabilities for communications, spectrum awareness, signal analysis, and secure networking applications • Build and maintain backend data processing pipelines, automated analytics workflows, and operator-facing applications • Implement signal processing algorithms and data analysis workflows to support detection, classification, and geolocation activities • Design and develop user interfaces, dashboards, and visualization tools that present actionable information to operators • Manage software deployment environments, configuration control, version management, and CI/CD processes; support full software development lifecycle activities including integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment What You Need • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, communications engineering, or related technical discipline • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, systems integration, communications systems, capabilities development, or related technical field • Experience delivering software solutions across the full development lifecycle from requirements through deployment and sustainment • Proficiency in software development in Python, C/C++, or equivalent; version control systems (Git); CI/CD and DevOps platforms • Linux-based development and deployment environment experience; eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance Nice to Have • Master's degree in a related technical discipline • Experience supporting government, defense, aerospace, telecommunications, or highly regulated industries • Experience with communications systems, cellular technologies, wireless networking, LTE, 5G, spectrum management, or geolocation technologies • Experience with signal processing techniques, data analytics, sensor data exploitation, RF data, and spectrum monitoring systems • Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance; containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes); experience with secure communications solutions and resilient network architectures
