The Sr. Director of Quality & Project Delivery is a senior hybrid leadership role that combines executive-level quality program ownership with active operational support for ACT’s Asset Optimization Team (AOT). This position is responsible for building and directing ACT’s QA/QC program, while simultaneously serving as a senior resource within the AOT to support large-scale project delivery. The role carries direct P&L accountability and requires a highly collaborative, customer-facing leader capable of building high-performing teams, resolving complex field issues, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
This role will lead the performance of QA/QC activities on customer projects during construction activities, ensuring all work meets contractual quality requirements and ACT’s standards from ground break through commissioning.
This position is approximately 50% reporting and 50% field-based, with up to 50% travel including out-of-state travel as necessary.
Duties/Responsibilities:
QA/QC Program Leadership
Design, build, and implement ACT’s QA/QC program from the ground up, establishing standards, processes, inspection frameworks, and documentation protocols
Define and enforce quality standards across all O&M and construction activities, ensuring conformance to contract requirements, client expectations, and regulatory standards
Develop and maintain QA/QC manuals, inspection checklists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all field and reporting functions
Establish quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting cadences to drive continuous improvement across all business lines
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action processes for quality escapes, recurring deficiencies, and customer-reported issues
Oversee quality audits and inspections at active project and O&M sites; review findings and drive closure of non-conformances
Partner with operations, project management, and field teams to integrate QA/QC requirements into project planning and execution from day one
Team Building & Leadership
Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing QA/QC team including inspectors, field quality leads, and program support staff
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management to direct reports; set clear expectations and hold team members accountable to ACT’s standards
Foster a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and accountability across all organizational levels
Collaborate with operations and AOT leadership to identify staffing needs and build team capacity in alignment with project pipeline growth
AOT Project Support
Serve as a senior resource within the Asset Optimization Team (AOT) to support the planning and execution of large, complex solar projects
Assist AOT project managers in scoping, estimating, scheduling, and executing high-priority O&M and construction projects at utility-scale and commercial solar PV facilities
