Element Biosciences is developing high-performance scientific instrument platforms. This Senior Embedded Systems Engineer role focuses on designing, implementing, and validating embedded Linux applications with real-time communication capabilities for their instrument platform, reporting to the Senior Director of Embedded Systems. What You'll Do • Perform requirements gathering and system specification writing for embedded platform and applications • Design, implement and validate embedded Linux application software with real-time communication and processing functionalities • Integrate Linux kernel, BSP, bootloader, and hardware drivers for required functionality • Conduct system bring-up activities and lead firmware/software functionality debugging • Conduct performance profiling on data processing tasks in embedded SoCs and collaborate with team on validation and debugging What You Need • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science • At least 3 years of industry experience in embedded firmware or embedded system development • Hands-on experience with embedded system prototype bring-up • Practical experience with embedded Linux system configuration, memory management, and driver integration • Proficiency in C and C++ with practical experience using debugging tools and methodology Nice to Have • Experience with development and execution of automated tests and performance profilers • Good knowledge of electronic components including FPGA and embedded processors/SoCs • Experience in GPU or NPU kernel firmware development • Linux knowledge and experience Base compensation range not specified (listed as $XX–$XX).
