Balbix is a security SaaS company seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to lead infrastructure architecture and automation initiatives. This role is critical for enabling engineers to succeed by designing scalable, secure, and automated cloud platforms primarily on AWS with a focus on Infrastructure as Code and continuous deployment. What You'll Do • Design and develop Infrastructure as Code components for the Balbix platform and internal engineering tools running on AWS, with a commitment to automation and repeatability • Build and deploy state-of-the-art security SaaS infrastructure using fully automated, repeatable, and secure CI/CD techniques • Administer Linux systems at scale using configuration management and automation tools; implement security best practices including TLS, bastion hosts, certificate management, authentication, authorization, and network segmentation • Design, develop, and manage deployments across multiple Kubernetes clusters; manage, maintain, and monitor infrastructure health and performance • Design and implement a consistent logging, monitoring, and diagnostic system for Balbix solutions; participate in on-call duties for production support What You Need • 8+ years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering • 4+ years of hands-on infrastructure setup on AWS for SaaS-based product development organizations • Solid understanding of AWS services including load balancers (NLB/ALB/ELB), IAM, KMS, networking, EC2, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Lambda • 4+ years of experience building infrastructure using Terraform • 3+ years of solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Helm • Excellent knowledge of configuration management systems such as Ansible • Knowledge of CI/CD code management and deployment technologies such as GitLab and Docker • Familiarity with Nginx, HAProxy, Kafka, and related public cloud components • Excellent time management, ability to stay focused under pressure, and capacity to quickly reprioritize competing deadlines • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills Nice to Have • Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, or LGTM stack • MLOps experience • Experience deploying and managing Aurora RDS, PostgreSQL, ElastiCache, Cassandra, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, or ClickHouse • Experience building or working with the latest AI technologies for infrastructure management
