NextPatient is a healthcare software company that modernizes the patient experience by integrating with legacy doctor's office systems. This Staff Software Engineer role is for a high-performing full-stack builder to lead development of significant product features, working closely with product, design, and co-founders. What You'll Do • Lead development of meaningful product slices as a full-stack engineer using Python, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL • Deliver best-in-category features that modernize the patient experience (online scheduling, paperless check-in, payments, etc.) • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and co-founders on product strategy and execution • Gather direct feedback from practices and account managers to validate and improve features • Participate in client calls to understand healthcare practice workflows and pain points What You Need • 10+ years of software engineering experience • Track record of making significant contributions to shipped products • Full-stack development capability across frontend (JavaScript) and backend (Python, PostgreSQL) • Startup-friendly temperament comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change • Experience working on Linux systems Nice to Have • Healthcare or medical software experience • AI/ML implementation experience (as AI is growing in importance at the company) • Experience with legacy system integration $250,000–$300,000 base salary, equity offered, comprehensive health/dental/vision insurance, 401k with match, generous PTO, 11 federally recognized holidays, fully paid parental leave after 12 months tenure, company-wide and team trips
