Position Title: Student Worker - Grotto - Marketing/Philanthropy (Work-Study) Job Description: General Job Description: The student worker position at the National Shrine Grotto is multi-faceted, with duties including information desk attendant, office worker, shop clerk and outdoor duties. The purpose of the Miller Family Visitor Center is to provide a pleasant experience and excellent service to our visitors through the facilities we offer, the information we impart, and the personal attention we give to each guest. The varied responsibilities of the National Shrine Grotto student worker position include the following: • Responsible for providing friendly, effective visitor service and information to all guests. • Welcome and greet visitors with a smile, say “hello” and offer to answer any questions they may have. • Answer phone be prepared to answer questions about Mass times, hours and group visits. • Complete timeshare accurately and submit to your supervisor. • Perform other tasks as may be assigned by supervisor. Marketing/Philanthropy • Collaborate with Marketing Manager to increase outreach to potential visitors. • Assist with maintenance of donor records. • Type correspondence, entering data and managing weekly prayer requests. • Create publications (fliers, brochures, etc.). • Promote National Shrine Grotto events through innovative and traditional PR/advertising techniques. • Post fliers of special events around campus. • Send emails campus-wide and to our visitors/donors nationwide. • Upkeep of various webpages, including posting on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Salary and Hours • Students are paid the current minimum wage for Maryland. • Students will work a total of eight (8) hours per week. Full Time/Part Time: Part time
