Description
We are looking for a Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale commercial and multifamily construction projects in a general contracting environment. This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for on-site execution, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client with a long-standing reputation for delivering commercial construction, design-build, and construction management projects. This position is ideal for an experienced field leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working closely with clients, architects, subcontractors, and project teams to successfully deliver complex projects. Responsibilities Lead daily field operations on commercial and multifamily construction projects from site mobilization through final completion. Develop and maintain project schedules while driving subcontractor performance to meet milestone and completion dates. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, architects, and project managers to ensure efficient project execution. Enforce jobsite safety standards and maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety policies. Monitor workmanship and quality throughout construction, ensuring work complies with project plans, specifications, and contract requirements. Identify field issues early and implement practical solutions to keep projects on schedule and within scope. Conduct regular jobsite meetings to communicate project priorities, schedule updates, and safety expectations. Review construction drawings and specifications to proactively resolve conflicts before they impact field operations. Maintain accurate daily reports, site documentation, and progress updates for project stakeholders. Foster strong working relationships with clients, architects, and trade partners while promoting a collaborative, solution-oriented jobsite culture. Requirements 7+ years of superintendent or field leadership experience on commercial or multifamily construction projects. Proven experience leading larger commercial construction projects through all phases of construction. Experience working for a commercial general contractor is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and jobsite safety. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules. Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, architects, and field teams. Local Memphis-area candidates are preferred. Must successfully complete reference checks and pass a pre-employment drug test. Benefits Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience. Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.
