Position Overview: The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, support and management of the DATAMARK IT Infrastructure. These responsibilities include all technical aspects of design, configuration, and documentation of the network and systems infrastructure. Must be well-versed in Server Virtualization, Networking, Security, Core Services, Application Performance, Data Storage, etc. Primary Responsibilities: • Provides technical leadership through analysis, design, installation, and support of DATAMARK Virtual Environment. Configures, installs, maintains, tests, analyzes, evaluates, and upgrades Virtual Nodes and services • Develops and Maintains documentation and standards to direct the system activities • Works closely with other IT staff to support all aspects of the Virtual environment. Cross train IT staff to reduce IT response time for system trouble and system requests • Analyzes and provides information to Management for assessing VM utilization and provides guidance for selecting appropriate Virtual Equipment for new projects • Thorough knowledge and experience administering servers in domain environment including installing, troubleshooting and configuring DNS, DHCP, IIS, Group Policy, User/Group administration, auditing event logs • Responsible for but not limited to keeping computer equipment, hardware, and software updated to meet organizational needs as well as installation of new software releases, system upgrades, patches and resolution of software related problems • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, must be willing to develop the technical skills of other team members whenever possible • Management and Administration of Windows Servers, virtualization, active directory, routers, switches, firewalls, SAN/NAS, IP phones, smartphones, software deployments, security updates and patches • Ensures the integrity of file servers, VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems are reliable and secure • Backup and Recovery of servers and configurations • Must be able to handle upgrades of both hardware and software - developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements • Maintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks, and operating and system management systems to determine root cause Responds to after-hour alerts and phone calls, as needed • Researches & makes recommendations for future technical solutions • Assists management staff in various IT projects, as needed • Demonstrates flexibility in job responsibilities • All other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: • Education Requirement: o Bachelor’s degree in CS, CIS or computer-related science field; equivalent work experience considered lieu of a degree • Field Experience: o At least 10 years of experience in the IT systems field • Position Experience: o At least 7 years of experience in an IT Systems Engineer position • Other Qualifications: o Experience in Microsoft Active Directory o Experience with VMware and vSphere Infrastructure and a solid understanding of virtualization concepts o Experience with network and systems monitoring solutions o Telecommunications, call tracing, SIP traffic and VoIP experience o SolarWinds Log & Event Manager and Orion experience o VMware and Veeam Datacenter experience o Microsoft Certified IT Professional on Windows 7 preferred o A+ Certification preferred o Experience with VxRail Equipment preferred o Multi-channel contact center experience is preferred o PCI, SOC & HIPAA Compliance experience a plus o Broad knowledge of technology fundamentals across all disciplines, e.g. software delivery, datacenter environment, network architecture, IT security, IT project management. - Preferred o Experience working in an ITIL environment.
