Description
We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join a well-established public accounting firm serving privately held businesses, business owners, executives, and individuals. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with 3–5 years of public accounting experience and a strong background in tax preparation, compliance, planning, and client service. The ideal candidate has a significantly stronger tax background than audit or assurance experience and is comfortable working directly with clients on complex tax matters. This role offers exposure to a diverse client base, challenging engagements, and opportunities for long-term professional growth while working closely with experienced firm partners and senior staff. Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and S corporations Prepare complex individual tax returns for business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals Research tax issues and assist with tax planning strategies Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide practical planning recommendations Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide tax guidance Ensure accurate and timely compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations Collaborate with partners and senior staff on tax engagements and advisory projects Assist with special tax projects, consulting assignments, and other client needs Manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality of work Requirements 3–5 years of public accounting experience with a primary focus on tax Strong experience preparing business entity and complex individual tax returns Significantly more tax experience than audit or assurance Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and client relationship skills CPA license or CPA candidacy preferred, but not required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred Ability and willingness to work on-site in Allentown, Pennsylvania Benefits 100% employer-paid employee health insurance SIMPLE retirement plan with dollar-for-dollar company match up to 3% Overtime worked beyond the first 60 hours annually converts into additional paid time off Employees commonly accumulate 4–6 weeks of PTO annually Collaborative, team-oriented public accounting environment Direct mentorship and access to firm partners Exposure to complex tax and advisory engagements Long-term career growth and professional development opportunities
