Description
Provides the interface under supervision and upon instructions between the office and the managed fleet on technical matters for: • Repair • Dry dock • New building site offices For this purpose, he shall be familiar for his assigned vessels’ with: • Type • Principal particulars • Flag • Class • General condition / status He shall become exposed to all facets of the Technical Superintendent’s job, including: • Technical operations • Long term projects such as major repairs and dry docks, provided this is a supervised involvement • Requires traveling abroad for: • Training • Survey attendance • Repairs and dry-docks • New building sites • Other areas where the Company holds an office or is involved in a specific activity Core Job Functions Maintains knowledge of the characteristics and status of all Fleet vessels including: • Ships’ principal particulars • Flag • Classification • Performance data ·          Supports the fleet Superintendents in evaluating vessels’ maintenance status and machinery performance on regular basis to ensure functionality as per their designed characteristics ·          Regularly reviews the status of fleet vessels regarding the following aspects: • Status of Work Order-Failures (defect reports) of all machinery including critical equipment through the NS PMS • The number and nature of any outstanding maintenance task •   Evaluates reasons of outstanding tasks •   Considers rescheduling basis TRA and submission through NS PMS He acts as support to the Technical Superintendent seeking his consent • Carrying out remote verification of the completed maintenance tasks in the PMS by: • R eviewing the findings •   Supporting documents • Closing out the task ·          Assists the Technical Superintendents to ensure that fleet runs efficiently and as per: • Class / statutory requirements • Company's guidelines ·          Maintains important records for each vessel or project for analytical or other purposes ·          Records’ filing or retrieval are of a great variety and shall include among others: • Vessel particulars • New building records • Major repairs and dry docks • Ship auditing results • In/Out communication • Classification related projects ·          Corresponds with assigned vessels for various issues such as: • Technical/class manuals • Technical issues ·          Collects, analyzes and presents results from ship correspondence ·          Retrieves technical data in order to provide them in a professional manner, when necessary ·          While on training, he shall ensure that the training objectives are met and all aspects of the training are incorporated into subsequent        work ·          When serving onboard a vessel, he shall follow all safety requirements and work under the direction and supervision of the Technical Superintendent or his designated deputy Core Competencies Master’s degree in Engineering or Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering • Literate in computers use, IT experience: • Spreadsheets • Ms Project • Internet • Good command of English Language, both oral and writing Significant Factors • Ability to communicate effectively with: • Crew • Technical and other Departments’ members • External 3rd parties • Good organizational, communication and negotiation skills • Ability to: • Work under pressure and function effectively in a fast-paced multi-tasked team environment • Work flexible hours • Travel
