Role Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administration, coordination and organisational skills who is looking to develop a career within a fast-paced engineering environment.
This is primarily an administration and coordination role, rather than a procurement, purchasing or strategic sourcing position. You will support the Technical Buying Team with the day-to-day administration of purchase orders, deliveries, supplier records, procurement systems and reporting activities that help keep engineering projects on track.
Working closely with Technical Buyers, Engineers, Project Managers and Operations teams, you will play an important role in ensuring materials, components and services are accurately tracked, receipted and delivered to internal stakeholders.
Full training will be provided on Camlin's systems and processes.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Technical Buying Administrator, you will provide administrative support to the Technical Buying Team and assist with the coordination of engineering purchases, supplier deliveries and procurement records.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Order and Delivery Administration
• Track and monitor component and service deliveries for the Technical Buying Team.
• Collect and distribute components from Operations Stores (Goods Inwards) to relevant internal stakeholders.
• Receive goods and services within Camlin procurement systems.
• Update and maintain accurate purchase order records and tracking tools.
• Follow up on outstanding orders and delivery dates with suppliers and internal teams.
• Support weekly reviews of open purchase orders and provide status updates where required.
• Escalate potential delays or issues to the Technical Buyers.
Procurement Administration
• Review and process purchase receipts and supplier invoices within the procurement system.
• Assist with the administration of purchase requisitions and approvals.
• Maintain accurate supplier and purchasing records.
• Help ensure procurement documentation is complete and up to date.
• Assist with supplier audit administration and record keeping.
Systems and Process Support
• Support the administration of procurement and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
• Assist with inventory and excess stock tracking.
• Produce reports and updates as required.
• Support continuous improvement of team processes and administrative procedures.
• Undertake any other reasonable administrative duties required to support the Technical Buying Team.
What You'll Need to Succeed
• Previous experience in an administrative, coordinator or support role.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets and online systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
Desirable Criteria
• Experience working with procurement, purchasing or ERP systems.
• Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing or technical teams.
• Familiarity with purchase orders, invoices or supplier administration.
• Experience using systems such as Precoro, Arena PLM or similar business platforms.
