Job Description
UFIT (University of Fitness & Technology) is hiring energetic, reliable, and student-focused Yard & Physical Education (PE) Coaches to support schools by supervising students during recess and lunch, leading structured sports and games, and teaching age-appropriate PE classes.
This role is perfect for candidates who enjoy working with youth, leading physical activity, promoting positive behavior, and creating a safe, inclusive, and well-organized play and learning environment.
You will be a front-line representative of UFIT on campus, helping improve student engagement, safety, and school culture through structured play, sports, and PE instruction.
Responsibilities
Recess & Lunch Yard Supervision
• Supervise students during recess and lunch to ensure safety, inclusion, and positive behavior
• Set up and run structured games and sports stations
• Actively monitor student behavior and intervene early in conflicts
• Use positive, SEL-aligned language to de-escalate situations
• Enforce school and UFIT rules fairly and consistently
• Report incidents, injuries, or concerns per UFIT and school procedures
Equity, Inclusion & Student Engagement
• Ensure all students can participate regardless of skill level or background
• Modify games and activities to be inclusive and age-appropriate
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and positive play
• Support students with transitions, regulation, and peer interactions
Physical Education (PE) Instruction
• Teach structured PE lessons using UFIT curriculum and school standards
• Lead warm-ups, skill instruction, games, and cool-downs
• Manage equipment, class transitions, and student engagement
• Adapt lessons for different grade levels and learning needs
• Track attendance and complete basic session documentation
Professional & Safety Duties
• Follow all student safety and supervision protocols
• Communicate professionally with school staff and UFIT leadership
• Arrive on time, prepared, and in UFIT uniform
• Complete required reports and logs accurately and on time
Qualifications
Required:
• Experience working with children or youth (schools, camps, sports, afterschool, etc.)
• Ability to manage groups of students in active environments
• Comfortable leading games, sports, and basic PE activities
• Strong communication and classroom/yard management skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Must be able to pass:
• Livescan background check (At applicants Expense)
• TB test
• School district compliance requirements
Preferred:
• Background in coaching, physical education, recreation, or youth development
• Experience in K–12 school settings
• Familiarity with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) or positive behavior supports
• CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
